In the good ol’ days, Ximending was a popular place for the younger generation go to hang out, see and been seen or catch a movie with their friends. It’s still a district filled with movie theaters, restaurants and shops with the buildings look and feel a bite run down. At the end of the cinema street in Ximending, there is the largest outdoor space that is the Taipei Cinema Park. The original site of the Taipei Cinema Park was the Taiwan Gas Co, Ltd, which was established during the Japanese occupation era. It is now a outdoor, public place dedicated to the arts of cinema, and street culture. The park has preserved the buildings of that time, such as the factory, chimney room. This is a nice, sizable outdoor space for kid to run around in. It has a graffiti wall and popular with skateboarders.
