Taiwan Youth Leadership | Mandarin, Leadership & Social Impact Program

A unique leadership and social impact summer program in Taiwan designed for international youth who want to learn Mandarin, explore Taiwanese culture, and create positive change through real community projects.

Participants will work directly with local nonprofits, social enterprises, and community leaders while developing leadership, communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.

Session 1 — Thrift for Good

Young leaders will create and launch a real pop-up thrift shop supporting a nonprofit organization in Taiwan.

Participants will:

  • Learn basic business planning & entrepreneurship
  • Visit local thrift shops for inspiration
  • Source second-hand goods
  • Create marketing & promotion plans
  • Operate a real thrift pop-up event
  • Join a beach cleanup activity

All proceeds from the thrift shop will support a local NGO in Taiwan.

Community Service Hours

10 certified volunteer hours


Session 2 — Sustainability For Good

This session focuses on sustainability, community service, and nonprofit collaboration.

Participants will work with:

Step30

A nonprofit organization that collects used shoes and sneakers for children in Kenya.

Students will:

  • Organize a shoe donation campaign
  • Promote the campaign in public spaces
  • Visit the Step30 warehouse
  • Sort and prepare donations
  • Meet the founder and learn about the mission

Ming Hsiung Second-Hand Bookstore (Chiayi)

Participants will also travel to Chiayi to learn from community leader Mr. Huang Jin-shan, who created a second-hand bookstore supporting children in underserved neighborhoods.

Students will:

  • Visit the bookstore community space
  • Interact with local children
  • Learn about grassroots social impact work
  • Experience community engagement firsthand

20 certified volunteer hours

  • After payment is confirmed, an email confirmation will be sent to parents’ e-mail.

FAQs

Refund Policy

The registration fee are non-refundable. Refunds for tuition may be processed under the following conditions

  1. If for any reason, Fun Taiwan Art Camp cancels the camp 1-5 business days before the 1st day of the session, total camp fees (excluding the registration fee) will be refunded.  
  2. If for any reason, campers wish to cancel enrollment, 90% of the tuition will be refunded provided that the cancelation request is emailed at least 30 calendar days before the first day of camp.
  3. If campers wish to cancel enrollment before the end of the 1st week, only 50% of the tuition will be refunded.
  4. There will be no refunds of tuition after the 1st of camp.    
  • Refunds will not be processed until Sept 2026. It may take up to 30 working days after processing for campers to receive refunds. The registrant shall bear the cost of the wire transfer and other bank fees incurred during the refund process.  

If in-person class is not permitted because of the pandemic, Chinese classes will be held online and the afternoon sessions will be canceled. Tuition will be partially refunded. Fun Taiwan Camp reserves the right to adjust the camp as necessary.

Regretfully, refunds will not be provided for any leaves of absence.

We regretfully will not be able to provide refunds for camp cancellations due to typhoons or natural disasters.
